Hello,

as mentioned in our last website update (see NEWS of August 2010) we have to tell you important news!

Ida Clinckx has closed this/her nursery school in Kassor/ Sanyang and has moved it to another place already during the summer vacations 2010. This village is called Mamuda and it is just 2km away from there.

The new school building also has three classrooms and one office room. This school was empty because its former sponsors (people from Germany) haven't supported it anymore. The ground belongs to the government, but Ida got the permission from the Akalo (the village elder and mayor) to use this building and the huge areal around it for her own school.

This school is also called Mia's Nursery School and has got its own website now

because this website here won't be updated up from now. You can read everything about the new Mia's Nursery School there :-)

-.-

There are several reasons why Ida Clinckx has closed this school here in Kassor/Sanyang:

It was built on her private properties where also her house is located. That what seemed to be a big advantage first, turnt out to be a big disadvantage. Since the gate of the school yard was open all day long for the children, everybody else came in as well. Especially when Ida Clinckx was absent she missed lots of her own things but also school material when she turnt back. Not only when she was gone home for some weeks to Belgium. This happened also when she left her properties for just going to the market in Sanyang village. Also she noticed that her schoolbus got permanently abused for other purposes when she was not there. It was permanently broken and needed to be repaired lots of times.

Here you see one of these robber gangs sneaking through the school gate...

some other thieves were climbing over the wall...

All these annoying things have eaten up a lot of money in the past two years...money that was not foreseen in her school budget.

When even Ida's dog got beaten almost to dead by some of these strangers...

she decided to move this school away from her own ground.

She also released the whole teacher crew...

and she kept the gate permenently closed up from then.

And then she decided to make a little farm out of this former school...

She bought some chicken and put glass shards for protection on the wall...

the former schoolyard has been turnt into an acre..

where she grows vegetables, herbs and fruits for selling it on the market...

The former school building is now re-purposed as shed for the chicken ...

and the eggs will be sold on the market as well...

other animals like goats and lambs will follow sometime soon...

The main purpose is earning money for supporting the new Mia's Nursery School in Mamuda, but also her other school projects.
