17th August 2010 Hello, after several months of silence we have done a little update in the photo section eventually :-) Actually no real important things have happened from November 2009 up to July 2010, but there will be some important news on the next website update, since Ida Mia Clinckx did quite some changes on the school organization recently. (We'll keep you posted, we first have to get some more informations on this matter!)
I the meantime we want to tell you that all children and teachers from the St.David Nursery School came to visit Mia's Nursery School around Christmas time last year. The St. David Nursery School is located in Serekunda and gets also financially supported by Ida Mia Clinckx : http://www.gambia-projects.org/stdavidschool
Everybody enjoyed this big meeting very much...
especially also Mr.Bangura and Mr.Landing, the teachers of the St.David Nursery School.
The mothers cooked tasty food... and the fathers boiled delicious tea ...
while the kids were singing... and dancing... All in all it was also a welcomed opportunity ...
to inaugurate the new garden pavillon :-)
.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. Another big celebration event had been 'The Gambian Traditional Dresses Commonwealth Day' lately. It got celebrated in Sanyang village were all people came together.
Afterwards everybody moved to Mia's Nursery School ...
were the children wore the traditional individual clothings and hairstyles of their tribes...
and the always busy mothers were cooking amounts of wonderful food again ...
which the kids were eating in their classrooms... before they were allowed to watch the childrens movie 'Beethoven, the dog' on TV...
a very exciting experience for most of the little children ;-) Many more new photos are in the photo section :-)
